THERE IS NO GOD LIKE JEHOVAH
So the king called his wise men and his magicians, and with their tricks the Egyptian magicians were able to do the same thing. Exodus 7:11.
In these last days, when evil is very prevalent all around us, people are affected by the practitioners of black magic and sorcery. When someone wants to bring down another person’s business or life they turn to these kinds of ungodly means. God hates these people who turn to sorcery. They will have no place in heaven (Rev.21:8). “But cowards, those who refuse to believe, who do evil things, who kill, who sin sexually, who do evil magic, who worship idols and who tell lies – all these will have a place in the lake of burning sulfur.” God clearly tells in His word in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells or who is a medium of spirits or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.”
But we see people are engaged in these kinds of activities. News papers are filled with horoscope, predictions, sometimes we feel, their predictions are true like prophecies that come from the servants of God.
Sometimes it seems as though all these witch craft have had effects on people but the word of God says in Exodus 7:12. “They threw their walking sticks on the ground, and their sticks became snakes. But Aaron’s stick swallowed theirs.” Amen! The first thing I want you to know is that:
ONLY OUR GOD IS GREATER
OUR GOD IS STRONGER
HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER
Greater is He that is in us, than He that is in the world (1 John 4:4).No matter what your feelings say. This is the truth.
Secondly, only our God prevails. We read in Exodus 8:18 “Using their tricks, the magicians tried to do the same thing but they could not make the dust change into gnats.”
The Egyptian magicians were doing the same miracles as Moses. But at a point they could not do anything further. Their magic did not work. Their evil powers stopped. The evil things of this world may look like it is flourishing and winning but at a pointing it will cease because it is fake. But the power of our righteous God will prevail. In Psalm 37:1 Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. 10 ,Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone.
17, For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly.
We read how wickedness and wicked people and those who do evil will be destroyed quickly.
We should continue to trust God and not to give up. We must keep trusting God.
The Bible says Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him, do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes (Psalm 37:7).
So when you are facing strong opposition remember that the God you serve is much more stronger than any evil force you are facing and that God’s power will prevail. Don’t let fear or doubt fill you instead be filled with power from on high as it is said in Luke 24:49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”
“Put on the full armour of God” (Ephesians 6:10-18)
“Cover yourself with the blood of Jesus through which we can overcome.” (Rev.12:11)
And pray on all occasions for everything (Ephesians 6:18) and the God of peace will soon crush satan underneath our feet. (Romans 16:19).
I read a story from the life of a great man of God, Evangelist Smith Wigglesworth which is a real life example of how powerful our God is. These are words from his book on the ‘Anointing’. It reads this way.
There is a power of God and there is a power which is of satan. When the Holy Spirit fell in the early days of our ministry, a number of practitioners of evil spirit came to our meetings. They thought we had received something like they had and they were coming to have a good time. They filled the two front rows of the meeting. When the power of God fell, these imitators began their shaking and meetings under the power of the devil. The Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon me and I cried, “Now you devil clear out of this place! And out they went. I followed them right into the street and then they turned round and cursed me. There was power from below, but it was no match for the power of the Holy Ghost, and they soon had to retreat.
Praise God. If only we would know the authority God has given us through the power of His name, if only we realize the greatness of God, if only we understand that we all children of the most High God, if only we remember we are called to be the conquerors. We will be fulfilling the plan of God on earth.
We will subdue it, we will overcome it. We will live as victors and glorify the name of our Father.
My prayer is that we will understand the great power of God and live for His glory as overcomers who prevail. Amen.
