Wasted for Jesus?

Christian life is an adventurous journey. We walk by faith and not by sight. The call of our Master is unique and unrelenting. We faithfully follow a Man who is Alive yet unseen in the physical realm. We follow a teaching that is so radical that many walk away from, saying it is too hard to follow. We follow a Spirit that is so powerful yet so sensitive.
Many of us have to give up our time, relationships, positions, wealth for the sake of following Christ.

People around us think we are wasting our time , our life on this Jesus. To some He is a picture on the wall, to some He is a myth, to some He is a good religious leader, to others He is one of the many gods, to others He is everything. He is their all in all.

We could so well enjoy the fleeting pleasures of the earth and passions of life but we choose not to for the sake of Christ.

People around us may not seem to understand, ‘why we waste this one life’.

Why do we go to church so often?

Why do we not come and enjoy like them? Why do we let go of

parents, friends,

well wishers and

outsiders? The list goes on.

Why do we let go of these benefits just because of our relationship with Christ? They think, ‘why waste this life on Jesus?’Would Christ really want you to live this way?

Here are some scenarios in your life where you may feel you have wasted your life for Christ.

#You have great talents. But for the sake of obedience , for peace , for revealing Christ, you obey Godly authority. You refuse to use your talents for secular purposes. Though you can earn much more in the world, you use them only for Christ. You are investing.. And no one, except you and Christ, understands the sacrifice you are making and that you are impacting the cause of the gospel for which only heaven knows the rewards you have earned. ‭‭In Galatians‬ ‭6:8‬( ‭NCV‬‬),the Bible says “If they plant to satisfy their sinful selves, their sinful selves will bring them ruin. But if they plant to please the Spirit, they will receive eternal life from the Spirit.”

#You get a great opportunity but God tells you not to take up a job or you give up a high paying job just because He told you otherwise. Even parents won’t understand you. You are alone on this journey. You are not even sure if its your own head telling you to do these crazy things.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭(NCV‬‬), “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and He chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”

The list goes on…

#You could have used money on yourself but chose to give to God..

#You could have chosen a spouse for yourself but you chose based on what Godly authority said and it didn’t go well. It seems like your life is wasted..

#You could have taken revenge but wasted the opportunity and said it was God’s to avenge and did not retaliate…

#You gave to someone the love they did not deserve knowing it’s a waste because they won’t realise it or value it. But for the sake of Christ you loved anyway…

#You Spent hours in worship and in the Word when the world, your friends and family enjoyed without you…

Jesus said in ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:29-30‬ (‭NCV)“ I tell you the truth, all those who have left houses, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or farms for Me and for the Good News will get more than they left. Here in this world they will have a hundred times more homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields. And with those things, they will also suffer for their belief. But in this age they will have life forever.”

Mark chapter 14 talks about a woman who seems to have wasted something so precious on Jesus. People ridiculed her, spoke to her harshly and gave her seemingly good advice. They seemed to think for her good. But only she knew what she had done and what He had done for her. Only she knew.

Jesus knew too.

He knew her past.

He knew she was forgiven.

He knew she loved Him much.

He knew what others thought of her.

He knew she had not wasted it but had invested it.

He knew her future .

And she was blessed beyond measure forever.

He said she would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached.

What do you want to be remembered for?

Do you want to be remembered for your wealth or for the many friends you have or as a philanthropist or do you want to be remembered as one who gave it all for Christ?

Prayers are not wasted. They are answered.

Worship is not wasted, it’s accepted.

Giving to God is not wasted; it will come back pressed down, shaken together, running over. Even one glass of water matters in heaven; even one drop of tear is stored in heaven. Even one second in His presence is counted.

Whatever you have done for Christ is not wasted. It is invested.

Jesus notices.

He blesses.

He uses it for His glory.

Surely He is Faithful even to the faithless because He cannot deny himself. He is worthy to receive all power, glory and honour, now and forever. Amen.

Happy Loving
